Rules of Entry

Applicants need to be available.

Entries will be judged in two stages by an impartial panel of judges.

Entrants do NOT have to be a member of Perthshire Chamber of Chamber of Commerce.

Following the completion of part one of the judging, a shortlist of nominees will be produced.

Shortlisted nominees will be interviewed by the judging panel to determine a winner in each category.

Photos, images and film footage will be requested for potential use this before, during and after the event in relation to the awards and these can be uploaded with instructions being provided in due course.

A maximum of three categories may be entered.

Nominations for one of the individual categories (Employee, Apprentice, Outstanding Young Business Person, Leader) will be allowed beyond three business categories.

Individual categories do not go forward for Business of the Year.

Descriptions provided may be used to create voiceovers or for promotion purposes.

The Perthshire Chamber of Commerce event – one of the most eagerly anticipated on the business calendar – takes place at Crieff Hydro on Friday 22nd November.

Application Guidelines

The Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards are free to enter for all businesses based in Perthshire.

Award sponsors may not enter the category they sponsor.

Anyone on a judging panel may not enter the category they are judging.

Entries are treated in confidence.

Companies may enter more than one category, with a maximum of three Companies may enter more than one category, with a maximum of three business categories (individual category nominations are not counted as they stand alone e.g. Employee, Apprentice, Outstanding Young Business Person, Leader)..

Judges reserve the right to move an entry to a different category if they feel it is more appropriate.

Incomplete entries and those received after the deadline will not be judged.

All entries will be acknowledged on receipt.  Entry forms will become the property of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and entries will not be returned.

Proof of sending entry (by email) is not proof of receipt.

Perthshire Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry.  Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.

Entrants need to be available from 12th August to 22nd November for judging.

The judges’ decisions are final and while feedback may be provided, no correspondence will be entered into. In certain cases, shortlisted organisations may be required to submit sets of audited accounts as supplementary information and/or agree to a site visit.

Information supplied will be shared with the judging panel and all information will be treated as confidential unless otherwise stated e.g. “for promotional/marketing purposes”. It will not be used for any purpose other than judging the competition. Finalist organisations may be included in related media coverage and may be required to take part in promotional activities about the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce. It is a condition of entering the awards that organisations do not contact the press about their entry or being shortlisted as finalists prior to the public announcement of this by Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and this date will be communicated to those shortlisted by the Chamber office.
